Day 1: Refinery Process Unit Designs and Damage Mechanisms

  • Comparison of common refinery layouts and configurations
  • Introduction to unit damage mechanisms: corrosion, erosion, cracking, etc.

Day 2: Inspection Planning Process and Unit-Specific Problems

  • Key steps in the inspection planning process
  • Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) methodology overview.
  • Identifying unit-specific problems and typical solutions

Day 3: Participation in RBI Workshops

  • Understanding the purpose and structure of RBI workshops
  • Hands-on participation in simulated RBI workshops
  • Practical exercises on risk assessment and prioritization

Day 4: Preparation of Inspection Task Plans

  • Developing inspection task plans outside of RBI workshops.
  • Case studies and examples of effective inspection planning
  • Review and discussion of inspection task plans developed by participants.
